EdjeTech's largest system was developed for tube mill facilities from the start. The Tube Mill Coolant Recovery System filters coolant continuously at the flow required by the mill, removing tube oil and ferrous and non-ferrous fines while the line runs.
Each TMCRS is engineered to the mill's required flow, tube-oil load, and particulate profile.
Engineered for the required mill flow and contaminant load
The Tube Mill Coolant Recovery System was developed for tube mill facilities from the start. It filters the mill's coolant in real time and returns it clean at the flow rate the line demands, engineered around tube oils and continuous ferrous and non-ferrous chip load.
Cleaner coolant for mill components and process consistency
Tube oil and particulate accumulate on the rolls and in the coolant pit. Real-time recovery supports cleaner mill components, lower solids accumulation, and more consistent coolant condition.
TMCRS full system
Filtration equipment detailCleaner rollers
Removing tube oil and fines reduces accumulation on forming and sizing rolls.
Galling control
Lower particulate recirculation helps reduce material that can score the tube.
Welder & impeder
Cleaner coolant supports consistent conditions around the weld box.
Pump protection
Lower contaminant loading reduces abrasive material circulating through the pumps.
Fewer pit cleanouts
Continuous oil and particulate removal reduces pit accumulation, while aeration helps suppress bacterial conditions associated with stagnant coolant.
Real-time coolant recovery at mill flow
TMCRS integrates permanently with the mill coolant circuit and filters the required flow during production.
The TMCRS process incorporates EdjeTech's Tramp Oil Separation System to remove free and mechanically dispersed tube oil continuously.
Reduce coolant purchases and disposal costs
Estimate simple payback from the quoted investment and your current fluid, disposal, labor, and maintenance costs.

Tube-mill coolant recovery
- 01
What does a tube mill coolant system remove?
Tube oils plus ferrous and non-ferrous particulate: the TMCRS removes 99.75% by volume, filtering contaminants from 10 to 50 microns, with magnetic separation taking 98% of the ferrous load.
- 02
What happens to the tube oil that comes out?
Recovered oil contains 2% water or less. Potential reclamation or reuse depends on its composition, waste classification, and the receiving facility's requirements.
- 03
What flow rates can the system handle?
Each TMCRS is engineered around the mill's required flow. Systems have processed up to 990 GPM and can scale to 1,600 GPM or more.

How does the system help control coolant odor and bacteria?
Continuous coolant movement and aeration help suppress the anaerobic conditions associated with stagnant, degraded coolant.
- 05
Does TMCRS filter coolant while the mill operates?
Yes. TMCRS is a permanent, automatic stage in the coolant circuit that filters in real time and returns clean coolant at the flow required by the mill. System uptime is 99% or greater.
